Taipei, Dec. 11 (CNA) The "Linsanity" that took New York City by storm earlier this year finally made a comeback in Houston Monday, when Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin broke out and matched his career high of 38 points.

Lin, formerly of the New York Knicks, proved his value by taking up the scoring burden in the absence of primary scorer James Harden, although it was not enough to prevent his team's 134-126 overtime loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

"I'm thankful that I was able to get comfortable out there, but that's definitely secondary to the fact that we blew another close game," he said afterward.

The 24-year-old made 11 of 21 shots from the floor, including four out of five from the three-point range, and a perfect 12 out of 12 from the free-throw line. He also contributed seven assists, two steals and blocks, and grabbed three rebounds.

The performance was what Houston wanted to see from Lin, who has signed a three-year US$25.1 million contract, USA Today Sports said.

A defect in Lin's breakout game, though, could have been his failure to prevent Spurs guard-forward Danny Green from stealing the ball when the two teams tied toward the end of the regulation time and Lin tried to make a final shot.

But his best showing so far this season was good enough to manifest Rockets coach Kevin McHale's confidence in him. McHale had said prior to the game that he would give Lin more control of the play, with

找回投籃準心

林書豪本季轉戰火箭後一直找不到投籃手感，進攻陷低潮，昨賽前平均僅9.9分，昨他找回準星，砍進4記3分球、罰進12球，都是生涯新高。

林書豪上半場拿12分，下半場開始飆分秀，第3節終了前2分鐘，在火箭一波9比2高潮中包辦6分，助球隊以102比93領先，眼看勝利在望，但終場前9分鐘，教練將他換下調整體力，結果馬刺拉出10比2攻勢反擊，正規賽終場前29秒，雙方120比120平手，林書豪持球進行最後一擊，球卻被對手拍掉，火箭錯過在正規賽擊敗馬刺的機會，在延長賽敗戰。

不過林書豪的大爆發仍引起媒體好評，NBA官網說：「林書豪重拾『林來瘋』風采！」《休士頓紀事報》形容林書豪「破繭而出」。
