M.I.A. song ‘Bad Girls,’ lawsuits renew fight for Saudi women’s right to drive

Days before M.I.A. flipped the bird at the Super Bowl, she was flipping the metaphorical bird at someone else: Saudi Arabia.

In her new music video for “Bad Girls,” M.I.A. is shown prancing about as what are believed to be Saudi women go drag racing, and Saudi male onlookers cheer them on. While some Saudi women are upset with the Arab stereotypes M.I.A. used in the video; many others say they were glad she was “pushing the boundaries” to get the world to pay attention to women’s right to drive.

On Monday, two Saudi female activists took up the fight, too, filing lawsuits against the government for refusing to give them a driver’s license, the Telegraph reports. It is the first high-profile legal challenge to the country’s ban on female drivers.

中東阿拉伯國家非法的Hagwalah漂移風格之瘋狂程度是全球皆知的，這種汽車漂移風格也有多年的歷史，而最近英國女歌手M.I.A.在她的最新嘻哈單曲《Bad Girls》音樂錄影帶就以Hagwalah Style為背景主題拍攝。

只是在MV中沒有突擊步槍或員警追捕，但有真正的高速漂移甩尾，汽車雙輪行駛，甚至有前輪驅動車輛漂移，360度和180度迴轉，人在車外雙腳滑移等危險特技。阿拉伯國家的車迷們用汽車特技揮灑著自己的激情與活力，而女歌手也搏命在只單邊雙輪行駛的車外邊唱邊修指甲，融入這種瘋狂的行為中。

英國女歌手 M.I.A.，不僅是歌手，更是創作人、饒舌者、製作人、畫家和導演。也因為她的多采多藝，讓她推出的作品總是令人耳目一新抑或是讓人摸不著頭緒。繼日前為已逝靈魂歌姬 Amy Winehouse 獻上致敬歌曲及與 Madonna 合作之後，她也推出個人新作。此次將收錄自己於2010年第三張專輯歌曲「Bad Girls」並翻玩露出，且同時間也發表第四張專輯將於今夏推出；各位敬請期待這次她會如何展現個人才華。
