Is this Marc Jacobs 'Jack of all Shades' ad tasteless or funny?



DESIGNER Marc Jacobs has again been embroiled in controversy, this time for an advertisement for his sunglasses range which appears to show a man masturbating in a park.

While the tagline for the 40 second ad is "Don't be shady, take a closer look!", within hours of Jacobs posting it to his YouTube account the internet was buzzing about its inappropriate nature.



"Get back to modeling your sunglasses on pretty faces and leave the potty humor to the professionals on the internet" blogged Daily of the Day.



"I think that even when I was in 7th grade, the boys in my class had a better-developed sense of crude humor than the embarrassing nudge-nudging on display in Marc Jacobs' latest sunglasses ad," wrote The Fashion Spot.




The twitterites were out in force as well, with Social Media Info claiming that "Marc Jacobs Sullies His Brand With This Tasteless Sunglasses Ad".



Jacobs has been certainly been pushing the promotional boundaries of late. In November 2011, he cast a then-17-year-old Dakota Fanning in a questionable print advertisement for his perfume, Oh, Lola!



The ad was deemed so raunchy that it was banned in the UK.

現在的廣告想要引人注目,愈來愈聳動,但有時只是噱頭,無傷大雅。



Gucci曾經出過一個廣告,讓女模特兒陰毛剃出「雙G」商標,惹來炮轟;這次Marc Jacobs的廣告也搞起曖昧,鏡頭一開始就對着一名男模的背,只見他站在一個公園裏,兩手則放在褲襠前,右手不斷作出來回移動狀,眼神還不斷游移……結果,答案揭曉,原來他只是在擦廣告要推銷的太陽眼鏡。



這支廣告日前在《推特》(twitter)發佈,有網友覺得好笑,但也不少人批評廣告品味低俗。
