CateBlanchett is a woman empowered, she seemingly has an amazing life as an actress,business woman and fashion icon. She has been the face of Japanese beauty brandSK-II for 9 years now so it seems like a bit of a surprise that the Oscarwinning actress has yet to front a television commercial for the brand. But allthat changed over the weekend, her first TV ad for SK-II aired on Australiantelevision.

“We shot the commercialin the Hsitou Bamboo Forest in Taiwan,” says Blanchett about the commercial,shot my famed photographer Rankin.“It was one of the most extraordinary places on earth I have ever been in. Thelight was so delicate, I was in a beautiful white dress, against all the green– it was just exquisite.”

In the ad Blanchett shares the history behind the brand and the journeyof discovery in a Sake brewery 30 years ago to find SK-II’s “miracle”ingredient Pitera. Glowingly smooth and perfect skin is something I think weall crave and SK-II is one of those brands who I think does an amazing job inhelping you achieve it over time.

I don’t often gush aboutskin care products here, but I am in love with the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask.It gave me smooth skin and visibly smaller pores after the first use and theirsecret is Pitera,a yeast ferment filtrate of sake that contains vitamins, amino acids, mineralsand organic acids. According to SK-II they all work together to help allow theskin surface’s natural renewal process to function at its prime – and somethingthat Blanchett credits as the product that transforms her skin to crystal clearclarity within 14 days. Though I’m guessing it helps that she has had seeminglyperfect skin for years…

 
“When I first discovered FacialTreatment Essence, the effect that it had on my skin was quiteremarkable,” Blanchett says of her experience with SK-II. “Its conditionimproved within a few weeks because I used it regularly, which is the key toSK-II – the benefits of using it consistently boosts the results. 金球獎暨威尼斯影后凱特布蘭琪(Kate Blanchett)今年7月份來台拍攝SK-II廣告,南下溪頭取景,近日廣告在網路上曝光,攝影師將溪頭美景拍攝得很夢幻,網友還說看不出來是溪頭,「拍得很像在日本」。

廣告中只見凱特在溪頭竹林中漫步,鏡頭拉近,42歲的凱特看起來彷彿年輕許多。影片曝光後,引發PTT網友熱烈討論,大讚攝影師拍攝功力,還說廣告拍得很像日本的風景,將台灣美景行銷到國際。
