每當期中、期末考快到了，總是對英文這學科一個頭兩個大嗎？！
就從實用的校園基礎英文開始！
→這次的數學考試，「我考不及格」 除了”I failed the test.” 以外，還有其他說法嗎？
→ 期中考到了，我要「臨時抱佛腳」的英文要怎麼說呢？
1. procrastinate (v.)耽擱；延遲；拖拖拉拉
to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring
ex. He did not want to write the letter and procrastinated for days.
（他不想寫那封信因此拖延了好幾天。）
同義字：To postpone; adjourn; defer; delay; retard; protract; prolong.

2. all-nighter (n.)（尤指考試前的）通宵溫習
a time when you spend all night studying, especially for an examination
ex. I pulled an all-nighter last night.
（我昨天熬了個通宵溫習。）
3. cram (v.)（為應考）死記硬背
cram (v.) 把……塞進；狼吞虎嚥地吃；死記硬背
to force a lot of things into a small space, or to do many things in a short period of time
ex. If you study hard all semester, you won’t need to cram for the examination.
如果你整個學期都很認真，就不用再考前臨時抱佛腳了。

4. burn the midnight oil 開夜車；挑燈夜戰
to work late into the night
ex. She takes her exams next week , so she's burning the midnight oil .
（她下週要考試，所以在開夜車。）
5. flunk (v.)不及格
to fail an examination or course of study
ex. She flunked the physics examination .
（她物理考試不及格。）
ex. The professor flunked Mary.
（教授給瑪莉打了不及格的分數。）
6. with flying colors 成績優異地；出色地
If you do something such as pass an examination with flying colors, you do it very successfully.
ex. He passed his exams with flying colors .
（他考試成績優異。）
7. kill 成績優異；高分通過
to generally be high performing or do a task well.
ex. I killed my biology exam.
（我的生物學考試考超好。）
8. by the skin of my teeth低空飛過
If you do something "by the skin of your teeth" it means that you did it by a narrow margin – so you just managed to do it, or almost failed.
ex. My brother is so lucky that he always manages to pass the test by the skin of his teeth!
（我弟超幸運的以致於他總是在考試時低空飛過。）
