由奧斯卡影后、新生代演員Jennifer Lawrencen所主演的電影《The Hunger Games 飢餓遊戲》系列二部曲《The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 飢餓遊戲：星火燎原》11月份在全球65個國家同步上映，票房全球燎原延燒，台北首週末三天票房高達2千6百萬台幣，全台票房累計也飆出6千萬元的紀錄，躍居全台週末票房冠軍！
比起前集，這集由《I am Legend我是傳奇》的導演Francis Lawrence執導接拍，除了較忠於原作外，格局場景也更加盛大，情感刻劃愈顯精湛細膩；這次三大主角還是新科奧斯卡影后Jennifer Lawrence、雷神弟Liam Hemsworth以及Josh Hutcherson，此外還有奧斯卡影帝Philip Seymour Hoffman、《Smallville超人前傳》的Alan Ritchson，及英國帥哥Sam Claflin等要角加入。

從飢餓遊戲中生還的Katniss與Peeta，依照遊戲規則，往後的日子應該是安全、優裕的，然而他們的勝利卻成為都城的羞辱，Katniss發現：他們的勝利，竟像星火燎原般，讓自己變成叛變的象徵人物，激起許多人的造反情緒。為了收拾這樣的局面，掌權者們決定籌畫第75屆的飢餓遊戲「大旬祭」，召集歷屆獲勝者重新參加，這一次，凱妮絲必須謹慎選擇可以相信和背叛的人，為生存而戰！當然，最後仍只有一位獲勝者…
